Drug discovery platforms

Our core research areas are diseases of the central nervous system (CNS) and diseases treated through modulation of ion channels.

NeuroSearch has two complementary drug discovery platforms within the CNS field: In Ballerup, research is highly target-driven focusing on ion channels, receptors and transporters leading to advanced programmes within psychiatry. Our target-driven approach implies that the research pipeline will generate valuable projects also outside the CNS field. This requires a flexible business model, which allows for a project to be handled in different ways securing optimal further advancement and value generation.

In our Gothenburg site, NeuroSearch AB, we utilize the Integrative Screening Process (ISP), a method which aims at mapping the response of a total living system to treatment. The drug candidates ACR16, ACR325 and ACR343 were discovered using ISP.
